What is Moonbeam?

Moonbeam is a developer-oriented blockchain that strives to provide compatibility with the existing Ethereum developer toolchain and network. It does this by providing a full EVM implementation, a Web3-compatible API, and bridges that connect Moonbeam to existing Ethereum networks. This allows developers to deploy existing Solidity smart contracts and DApp frontends to Moonbeam with minimal changes.

Moonbeam will also be a parachain on the Polkadot network. That means it will get shared security from the Polkadot relay chain and will be able to integrate with other chains that are connected to Polkadot (once that functionality is available on Polkadot).

How can you get started with Moonbeam?

There are currently two ways to get started on Moonbeam:

Ambassador Program

Moonbeam has its own ambassador program. In order to take part in it, you need to fill out a form in which you will need to specify your personal data, links to social networks and indicate past work experience and training.

The most difficult part of the form is a video, lasting from 30 to 60 seconds, in which you must describe your motivation for participating in the program.

After submitting the application, it will be considered in less than 2 weeks, after which they will write to you by mail, if you are accepted. Most often, applications are rejected because of the video, so it’s worth trying to work on it.

What should ambassadors do?

There are many areas where you can contribute to Moonbeam, depending on your experience and skills. The developers also support your own initiatives that, in your opinion, can benefit the project.

Areas that developers offer:

  • Technical project(for example, installing a node)
  • Translation
  • Content(creating memes, writing articles)
  • Design(infographics, GIFs, logos for the community)
  • Community(development of local communities and inviting new ambassadors)

What is the point of participating in the ambassador program?

The Moonbeam token will be Glimmer (GLAM) for Polkadot and Moonriver (MAVR) for Kusama. The GLMR and MOVR tokens don’t exist yet. So far, the developers have not made official statements, but ambassadors, as a rule, receive tokens, and also have priority in the queue when buying.

The second and the most important reason is the very interesting experience that you will get during your participation in the ambassador program.

Rather, join the Moonbeam community. Good luck!
